The United States Department of Defense and Department of Education have developed a program that they call "Troop to Teachers". This is an absolutely wonderful idea and from reports that I have read, it has been more productive that was originally anticipated.

I hate to see a great idea go to waste. Therefore, I propose that we start a "Troops to Preachers" program.

If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times. Jesus said and almost every single follower that He has ever had has spread the word. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Matthew Ch. 9

and again here; 2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." Luke Ch. 10

I've been in school a lot and one thing that many of my teachers, instructors, professors, etc... have taught me is that if I say it once it's important, if I say it twice it's going to be on the test. I know that this is the account of two separate men revealing details of a single instance. However, not everything appears twice in the synoptic gospels. I haven't reviewed every instance of duplication, triplication, or quadruplication but it appears logical that if it's recorded once it's important, if it's recorded twice it's very important, if it's recorded three times it's very, very important, etc...

There is a plethora of fully qualified harvesters, with tons of global, social experience. A tiny bit of training and poof, Super Harvesters.  Thousands of them fall out of the military every year.

This is a beginning. This is an idea that has a lot of potential. It is an idea that has sprouted like a branch from another idea. Now, as with any growing plant/idea that Almighty GOD has designed and nurtured we are going to need a few things. We need a plan/help and nutrition/funding. I believe that many people are aware of GOD, JESUS, and the SPIRIT OF GOD. I believe that many of them would go to church if some would simply ask them to attend. - (Ruth Powell for NCLS)

6 "Let everything that has breath praise the LORD." Psalms 150
                  Praise the LORD!

We put these two things together, 1 - Socially hardened military veterans given lots of guidance  plus 2 - people wanting to go to church but having NO one to ask them. I think that that would equal lots more people hearing the message that JESUS gave us to tell others and many more families in church, unless I forgot to carry the one (LOL).

I do not believe that we should arbitrarily turn away harvesters. I contacted a few CHRISTian mission organizations, specifically Baptist, and they told me that they were looking for people who had been to college and taken seminary courses. I found this terribly distressing. I've been going to church all my life. I've been to a lot of different types of churches, although I've remained Baptist.

JESUS told his disciples, in Mark chapter 9:

"38And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

39But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

40For he that is not against us is on our part."

So, I will not speak evil of them either. I just find it interesting that they refuse to accept church going CHRISTians as missionaries. I merely offer this as construction criticism. I believe that common everyday church going CHRISTians should be used every time that they are willing and available.

Testimony: Every time that I go into a fast food restaurant I grab a napkin and draw a cartoon picture of a cow, cat, little girl, or elephant on it. Around the edges in large letters I write, "GOD LOVEs U" and an exclamation point shaped like a heart. At the bottom in large letters I write, "Go 2 Church". This is what I call my napkin ministry. Oftentimes the waitresses will watch me doodling on the napkins. My testimony is that I have drawn hundreds of little toons like this over several states along I-10, 12, 59, & 20. I have always assumed that the waitresses threw them in the trash after I had left. However, one Dairy Queen that I visited a few times decided to do something different. They took my napkins and put up on their wall behind the cash registers so that everyone could see them. I thought that this was very, very nice. I like Dairy Queen a lot now. They have a great management team and some wonderful waitresses.

  1. First things first, I could use money to get this program started.

  2. Next, I'd like to recruit managers and recruiters.
